1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using Ancestral Lineage("the Platform"), operated by FacioTech Foundation ("we", "our", or "us"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, please do not use the Platform. These terms apply to all visitors, registered users, and anyone who accesses the Platform at https://ancestrallineage.com.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old to create an account. If you are under 18, you must have permission from a parent or guardian. By using the Platform, you represent that you meet these requirements.

3. Account Responsibilities

• You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials.
• You are responsible for all activities that occur under your account.
• You must provide accurate and complete information during registration and keep it up to date.
• You must notify us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account.

4. User-Generated Content

4.1 Your Content

You retain ownership of all content you upload, including family tree data, photographs, documents, stories, and biographical information ("Your Content"). By uploading content, you grant us a limited license to host, display, and process it solely to operate the Platform.

4.2 Content Standards

You agree not to upload content that:

• Infringes on intellectual property rights of others
• Contains defamatory, abusive, or hateful material
• Includes personal data of others without their consent
• Violates any applicable law or regulation

4.3 Community Content

Forum posts, comments, and shared clan pages are visible to other users. We reserve the right to moderate and remove content that violates our community guidelines.

5. Family Tree Data & Consent

When adding information about living family members, you represent that you have obtained appropriate consent from those individuals (or their guardians, in the case of minors). You are responsible for the accuracy and lawfulness of the family data you provide.

6. Free Access, Storage, and Mission Support

Ancestral Lineage is launching as a free-to-use platform for ancestry, family trees, heritage records, stories, media, and collaboration. Optional storage expansion and voluntary mission support may be offered separately from core access. By requesting these optional services:

• You understand that core launch access is free to use.
• You agree to provide accurate information about the storage or support request so we can respond appropriately.
• Any future paid storage or donation processing terms will be presented before payment details are collected.
• We may update storage availability, support options, and mission support workflows as the platform grows.

7. Later-Roadmap Financial Features

Financial modules such as Susu, family funds, savings groups, wallet balances, and payment workflows are not part of the first public launch. If these features are introduced later:

• They will be presented as a separate roadmap release with clear terms, privacy notices, and readiness checks.
• They may require additional compliance, identity, payment, or consent steps before use.
• Ancestral Lineage is not a bank or financial institution unless a later notice states otherwise through a regulated partner.
• Families should not rely on dormant financial screens or test workflows for real transactions.

8. Intellectual Property

The Platform, including its design, logos, code, and documentation, is owned by FacioTech Foundation and protected by intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or reverse engineer any part of the Platform without our written consent.

9. Prohibited Uses

You agree not to:

• Use the Platform for any unlawful purpose or to harm others
• Scrape, crawl, or extract data from the Platform systematically
• Interfere with or disrupt the Platform or its infrastructure
• Create multiple accounts to circumvent restrictions or bans
• Use the Platform for commercial purposes without authorization
• Upload malicious code, viruses, or other harmful material

10. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these terms. You may delete your account at any time through your account settings. Upon termination, your right to use the Platform ceases, but you may request an export of your data before deletion (see our Privacy Policy for data portability details).

11. Disclaimers

The Platform is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not guarantee that the Platform will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of harmful components. We do not verify the accuracy of genealogical data provided by users.

12. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, FacioTech Foundation shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Platform. Our total liability for any claim shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim.

13. Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Ghana. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of Accra, Ghana, unless otherwise required by applicable consumer protection laws in your jurisdiction.

14. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms of Service from time to time. We will notify you of material changes via email or a prominent notice on the Platform at least 30 days before the changes take effect. Your continued use of the Platform after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
