Records

Record a certificate, photograph or land document

What you can record about a document today, and the one part that is not switched on yet.

A record describes a piece of evidence and ties it to the people and events it concerns: what it is, when it dates from, where the original is kept, and who it relates to.

  • Open Documents in the dashboard and choose to add one.
  • Say what it is and where the original is held — a parish office, a family box, a relative's house.
  • Link it to the people it concerns so it appears on their profiles.

Attaching the file itself is not available yet. File storage is not switched on for this installation, so a record catalogues what a document is and where it lives, rather than holding a copy. Everything you enter is kept; when storage is enabled, files can be added to records that already exist.
