Publish a heritage site
Give the family one public address — and the setting that has to be filled in before publishing will work.
A heritage site is a public page you build from blocks: headings, text, images, galleries and a call to action. It holds only what you write into it.
- Open Website Builder and create a site.
- Open Public address and choose the last part of the web address, for example mensah-family.
- Write your pages, then publish.
The public address is required. Publishing is refused without one, so if publishing appears to do nothing, that is the setting to check first. Your site will be at ancestrallineage.com/sites/ followed by the address you chose. A custom domain of your own is not available yet.
What publishing does not do
Publishing a site never publishes your tree, your records or the people in them. The site shows the pages you wrote and nothing behind them.
